目前主要興趣包括:

厭氧微生物的過程與機理;厭氧微生物的環(huán)境適應(yīng)與進化;甲烷產(chǎn)生和氧化的微生物機理;微生物過程的環(huán)境調(diào)控作用;微生物地理分布規(guī)律。所采用的主要研究手段包括:分子生物學(xué)技術(shù)、環(huán)境基因組學(xué)、單細(xì)胞測序技術(shù)、穩(wěn)定同位素示蹤技術(shù)等。
